Classification of Working Sites

The sites chosen for launching model programs of Sarvodaya Sewashram in Lamjung district are divided under four categories:

1. Karmada Swastha Gram (Health Village)
Beyond the Paundi Khola (river) riverbank, that flows through Lamjung's gateway and serves as border between Lamjung and Tanahu district, comes Naubise Phant (moors) at Tarkughat -3 flanked by Marsyangdi (Karmada) river with splendid river coast which is named as "Karmada Swasthya Gram" (Health Village).

2. Prakriti Sewa Uddyan (Nature's Service Park)
Above Marsyangdi river up in the hill is a dense forest and down the wood lies sparse human clusters. Adjoining the human settlement is a hillock blessed with breathtaking beauty, shrouded in lush green vegetation, herbs and fruit orchard. The Harraboat Village based in Tarkughat - 2 VDC, ideal for panoramic views, is named as "Prakritik Sewa Uddyan".

3. Yoga Sadhana Sikhar (Yoga Summit)
1700 meter above sea level, a natural habitat of rhododendron forest and kafal (wild berry) groves, the fabulous hill ridge offers the stunning scenery of Marsyangdi river, Chepe river, Fishtail Mountain, Annapurna massif, Himchuli and Lamjung Himal as well as views of historic Raginaskot, Ligligkot, Turlungkot, Shreenathkot (Siranchowk), Tarkukot, Gaunda, Kunchha, and Bandipur. In the neighborhood of the Gurung clusters, resonant with Ghantu, Sorathi and Chudka folk songs nurtured in indigenous tradition, lies the Bijpur hill in Mohoriyakot VDC 1 & 2 which has been named "Yoga Sadhana Sikhar".

4. Sarvodaya Natural Hospital and Contact Office
The Sarvodaya Natural Hospital and Contact Office is based in Besisahar, the headquarters of Lamjung district. The hill township is adorned with historic Lamjung Durbar, the cradle of Shah Dynasty where humming Marsyangdi do the washing of Kalika temple. The road to Manang, an alpine hamlet hidden behind the Himalayan massif bordering Tibet, runs through Besisahar. Besisahar lays the path for travelers trekking to Mustang and Muktinath through Annapurna Thorang Pass and others yearning for Tilicho Lake.
